This summer was definitely one for the records. For the first time
ever, the temperature during each of the traditional summer holidays -
Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day - in Cleveland this year
reached 90 degrees.
On Memorial Day, Cleveland was a sweltering 92 degrees. Independence
Day was even hotter at 96 degrees, and Labor Day just made the cut,
coming in at an unseasonably warm 90 degrees. Each of these dates was
well above average. The average temperature for Memorial Day is 74
degrees, the average for the Fourth of July is 82.5 degrees, and the
average for Labor Day is 78.5 degrees.
